This masterclass provides you with the opportunity to explore your strengths in the context of informal and formal leadership in the workplace to raise awareness of your leadership potential.
You'll explore and evaluate your individual qualities and attributes, focusing on the qualities of a leader, and how these inform individual behaviour and effectiveness, applying what is learned in the 'classroom' to the work context. It will help you to understand what makes you effective as a leader and use what you learn to enhance that effectiveness, to benefit you and your organisation.
This course is suitable for anyone new to leadership roles or those who are not currently occupying a formal leadership position but are considering doing so in the future. It's aimed at people from private, public, and third-sector organisations, business owners, managers, or people from an organisation who are interested in developing their leadership effectiveness.
The masterclass is designed and delivered by highly qualified practitioners who have experience and expertise in their subject. We have a highly successful track record of tailoring course content to your needs to transform your understanding of the subject, which translates into increased effectiveness and satisfaction in your professional practice.
The course content will provide insight into leadership definitions, qualities of effective leaders, and styles of leadership. It's normally taught at St Peter's Campus, Sunderland, however for closed and bespoke cohorts, the course can be delivered at your workplace.
This course has no formal accreditation or assessment, although you'll be asked to reflect on your experience, providing evidence of the impact of the course with a consideration of how this might inform your future development.

To be eligible to receive this course fully funded, you must be employed by a Sunderland-based business. If you are self-funding, your suitability will be assessed by an academic on completion of the application form.
The fee for this course is £125.
