Develop your skills in quality improvement and patient safety. Address the challenges faced in healthcare organisations. Learn how to become an effective leader.
Organisations undertaking NHS-funded work face a common set of performance and people development challenges. They're frequently under pressure to deliver high quality care with improved performance within the context of rising demand and constrained funding. There's an increasing need for innovation and transformation in service design to improve quality and safety, ensuring this is sustained.
This level 7 short course will support you to develop your leadership knowledge, skills, and experience in quality improvement and patient safety, addressing the challenges of improving quality of care in clinical practice.
You'll evaluate your own organisation to make sure you have the right skills and resources to implement successful improvements. You'll identify local priorities for quality improvements that will make a difference to our healthcare systems, and develop skills to engage with frontline staff, businesses, and academia to encourage innovation.
Upon completion of the course, you may wish to progress onto the PgCert in Patient Safety and Quality Improvement, after which you'd have the option to study at master's level.
The course will be taught on campus on a day release basis, however, there's an expectation that you'll also undertake your own independent studying and some work-based learning to meet the demands of the course.
