Directors of Undergraduate Clinical Studies

The Faculty of Health Science and Wellbeing and the School of Medicine has established partnerships with local health providers across all healthcare sectors including primary care, secondary care and psychiatry trusts.

Directors of Undergraduate Clinical Studies (DUCS) are consultant clinicians who overseeing teaching and clinical placements for University of Sunderland Medical students at the following healthcare organisations: 

  • North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust
  • Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
  • South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust
  • Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust
  • Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust 

 
Our Directors are experienced clinical educators with proven track records in delivering excellent clinical teaching in both the undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. The Directors, supported by a team of dedicated clinical educators  deliver excellent clinical teaching across a range of specialities, offering diverse opportunities to all our medical students.
