You can study with the University of Sunderland across the world.
We work with partners to deliver our degree courses all over the world, including Malaysia, Hong Kong, Oman, Singapore, Trinidad and Tobago, Kenya, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
Our University was the first institution in the UK to receive a licence to operate in Vietnam.
We also offer distance learning opportunities to study University of Sunderland courses in your country, including the use of remote library services and e-resources.
We have strong partnerships with a number of colleges and universities around the world. These partnerships mean that you don’t have to come to the UK to study a University of Sunderland qualification. This is called 'transnational education', and the partner institutions are known as 'study centres'.
In most instances, a college or university in another country will deliver the course to you, but the course content will have been entirely designed and developed by us and you will gain a University of Sunderland qualification. Some partnerships involve a course being developed by the partner college or university and then approved by us. This will also lead to a University of Sunderland qualification.
All students who learn with us via transnational education receive a degree parchment from the University of Sunderland.
To study with us in your country, through one of the University of Sunderland's study centres, you must apply directly through the relevant study centre.
A number of our part-time courses are available for you to study via distance learning.
Distance learning typically involves accessing study materials online, and communicating with academic and administrative staff via email and phone.
You may be required to attend occasional study sessions on campus, but in most cases, you will study independently at a pace agreed with your academic tutor.
View our Distance Learning section for more information and to find the courses that are available to study in this way.
Online degrees
We also have a range of online degrees available as part of our distance learning offer. Their flexible teaching model means they can be studied at any time and from anywhere to fit around work and life commitments, with no need to ever visit campus. What’s more, you will be allocated a dedicated student success coordinator to support you from enrolment through to graduation.
