This course will equip you with the knowledge and abilities to embark on a career in a networking environment, working in large enterprises and for service providers. You will be provided with a solid grounding in advanced routing, telecommunications and cyber security, so that you can contribute to the efficient operation and management of complex networks and network services.
You will graduate as a competent network practitioner with a range of up-to-date skills and experience, covering in-demand technologies. The course will provide you with a high level of networking and transferable skills so you are ready for a number of career paths and are highly employable and attractive to local, regional and national companies.
The course will be taught using a variety of methods including lectures, interactive lectorials, lab-based practicals, classroom-based seminars and group problem solving sessions, case studies, guest expert lectures, one-to-one and group supervision and online learning.
The majority of assessments will be through practical coursework but you can also expect some written assessments and an occasional time-constrained assessment.

There are a massive range of organisations employing network engineers and security practitioners. Teaching, learning and assessment on this course focuses on development of practical skills needed by relevant employers.
The course aims to produce highly motivated, competent individuals who have the awareness, understanding and the necessary flexibility to effectively utilise and continually re-develop their own knowledge and skills of network technologies, protocols and services. The networking and transferable skills you will learn will set you up for a range of career opportunities, locally, regionally and nationally.
