Overview

This course is a way to gain a world-class undergraduate degree from a British university without leaving your country. The content of this course is the same as the Sunderland campus-based course BA (Hons) Business and Management Extended Programme.

Course structure

Teaching methods include lectures, seminars, supervised project and group work and resource-based learning.

Your progress will be assessed with written essays, seminar presentations, reports, case studies and learning logs.

Year 1:

Higher Education Skills and Competencies (10 credits)
Information Technology for Business Use (10 credits)
Contemporary Business Issues in a Globalised Environment (30 credits)
Introduction to Critical Academic Thinking (10 credits)
Organisational Behaviour and the Management of People (20 credits)
Introduction to Organisational Management (20 credits)
Business Management Project (20 credits)

Year 2 (national level 4):

Employability Skills (20 credits)
Contemporary Debates in Business Management (20 credits)
Understanding the Business Environment (40 credits)
Understanding Business (40 credits)

Year 3 (national level 5):

Introduction to Strategic Management (20 credits)
Developing Career Prospects (20 credits)
Responsible Business (20 credits)
Plus a choice of up to 60 credits from a range of topics relating to business functional areas, such as Management Accounting, Marketing Management, Business Law or Business Enterprise Management

Final year (national level 6):

Core modules

Strategic Management (20 credits)

Examine the concepts and underpinning theory of strategic management within organisations. Explore the many theoretical schools of strategic management with reference to those that address the formulation and development of strategy within the organisation. Contrast various theoretical models and modes of thinking around strategising and develop a robust set of tools to apply to real-world management problems. Examine ethical and practical issues facing business in modern global marketplaces.

Applying Critical Reflective Practice (20 credits)
Plus a choice of up to 40 credits from a range of topics relating to business functional areas, such as Management Accounting, Marketing Management or Business Enterprise Management

Optional modules (choose one)

Business Research Dissertation (40 credits)
Critical Debates in Professional Practice (40 credits)

Our typical offer is:

Qualification	Minimum grade
High School Diploma along with one of the following at the required grade: SAT I and SAT II, ACT or Advanced Placement	GPA 3.0 or above and: Sat score of 1100/1600 from SATs AP (Grades 3+ in at least 2 subjects) ACT (score of 26+)
