Events for offer holders and applicants

We’ll be hosting events for offer holders and applicants throughout the year. You’ll be invited to these events via email, so don’t forget to check your inbox.

Upcoming events include an online event about the cost of living, and a chance to learn more about our city and university in one catch-all event – 'Spotlight on Sunderland'. Full details, including dates and times, are coming soon...

Meet and Greet events

This is an exclusive event for offer holders.

These informal sessions will give you the chance to chat with current students and meet lecturers who’ll be teaching on the course in September. Come along for a cuppa and a chat, and feel free to bring friends or family along with you.

Student Finance and Administration staff will be there to answer queries you may have, and to check any documents that might be outstanding in your ‘My Application’ portal. Our teaching team are also very welcoming and really enjoy engaging with our prospective students ahead of September, to ensure you feel comfortable and confident about your choice of study and joining our university.

If your subject isn’t included below, keep an eye on your emails as your subject may invite you to something similar in the near future. To make an enquiry about coming on campus before you enrol, please email events.recruitment@sunderland.ac.uk

Cost of living event

Wednesday 7 May, 5pm-6:30pm

The cost of living continues to bring great concern to families and young people looking to make their way in the world. For some, this means juggling these concerns with being a full-time student.

Things to consider:

  • The average prices in the city you are studying in
  • University cost-saving offerings, such as free campus buses and discounts
  • Student accommodation prices and benefits (if living away from home)
  • How to food shop
  • Where to socialise

Are you aware of how degrees are actually financed and then deducted from salaries? It’s possibly way less scary than you think.

We'll also give an overview of student finance for 2025/26 entry and allow you to explore what other financial support may be available from the University while you study.
