After applying to a couple of universities in the North East, the University of Sunderland was always my preferred choice due to the course structure and the BPS (British Psychological Society) accreditation, along with having outstanding student support services, impressive success rates, great feedback from previous students and a vibrant campus. From the start of my journey I felt that I wasn't just an application number - I was a person with career goals and aspirations.
The choice to come to Sunderland was further cemented following a telephone conversation with the Pathway leader. They made me feel relaxed, confident and excited to return to education after such a long period of time away from academia, while showing me just how supportive the staff at Sunderland really are.
The foundation year is set up to enable you to succeed at university. The structure of the course enables you to not only develop your academic skills but build up your confidence and interpersonal skills. The course will enable you to grow, and teach you more than just how to write an essay - it will also enable you to flourish in your future years at university and beyond into your career.
With no doubts at all, I would recommend studying here, my experience has been nothing but positive. From fellow students, staff and services, there is always someone to turn to if you need support.
My advice to potential students is to do what's best for you and look at all options available to you. Sunderland really do care about you and will go above and beyond to ensure you have the best experience at university and will give you the skills and experience to move forward at the end of your education."
