Case Study

Edmund Flyte

East Sussex, UK

BA (Hons) Film Production

Student Edmund Flyte is set to receive £1,000 during his first year towards fulfilling his dream. The bursary will be vital in helping him buy equipment and study materials for his program. Edmund hopes that studying at the University of Sunderland will help him achieve his dream job working on BBC’s Doctor Who.

The course teaches me all areas of film production from writing and producing to foley work. That’s was why I have chosen to study at the University of Sunderland because the breadth of learning was so comprehensive. I’m only a few weeks into the course but I'm loving it already and really like being in Sunderland.

The Royal Television Society (RTS) bursaries provide support to the next generation of film and television students hoping to make their name in the industry.

The bursary will not only help me financially but also having the opportunity to be mentored and attend workshops are all invaluable to my progression during the program and my time here at Sunderland.

My dream job is to work on BBC’s popular Doctor Who series, of which watched for many years. The series was something I grew up watching and it’s fair to say I’m a big fan of it.

I am currently exploring the possibility of buying a camera with my RTS bursary to help with my studies over the next three years here at the University of Sunderland."
