The choice to study at the University of Sunderland was an easy one for me. My two older siblings attended the University before me, and they had great experiences. My brother studied Law too and spoke fondly of his time here, so that was one reason to choose Sunderland. I also appreciated the fact that the University has a Mock Law Court as part of its teaching facilities, which was particularly attractive to me as it provides a real-world view of how lawyers and judges behave in court.
The best aspects of this course for me was discovering how diverse the law can be and how many facets of life it can affect. The course is more about just 'the law', it is also about discussing ethical dilemmas. I have also had excellent support from the University's Student Financial Guidance team, who were fundamental in helping me resolve some issues I had with student finance.
Currently I am studying LLM Legal Practice LPC following my graduation from LLB (Hons) Law. I have live clients that I see, with qualified solicitors supervising my work, and it is brilliant to put into practice the skills I learned during my undergraduate course. I have also been liaising more with the Law Society and recently became involved with looking at the lack of diversity in the legal profession, specifically BAME employees. This is something I intend to work on more in the future.
I have matured and grown to become someone I am proud of, as well as someone who can aid others in their time of need. I would definitely recommend the University of Sunderland"
