Case Study

I have always had a passion to study law. I was born and raised in the United States where it takes a long time to obtain a degree so when the opportunity arose to study Law in the UK, I took the chance to do so. After looking at the University of Sunderland's website I knew this would be a good university to study at and a way for me to get a respected Law degree, experience a new culture and meet new people. Prior to coming to university, I was studying criminal justice online and working as a Ranch Hand for LifeSavers Wild Horse Rescue.

The University of Sunderland provides an excellent law course; there are helpful lecturers who are always there to assist with any questions, help you with the course work and are understanding of individual personal circumstances.

For any students looking to study at Sunderland, I would advise that they take the time to pick the right course and understand that it will be hard but that it is certainly worth it. If you are struggling at all during your studies, take the time to talk to your lecturers and seek help as it is there.

It is my intention to graduate with an LLB degree and continue with my education by pursuing an LPC/LLM degree. University can be a stressful time and difficult to manage on your own - thankfully, the University's wellbeing team can help with stress management, getting out and socialising.

Studying at the University of Sunderland has been a brilliant experience. I have been able to learn new skills, experience a new culture and make friends that I will continue to have well after I leave University."
