I was working as a design engineer back in early 2019. I was tasked to design most of the time, but I did other jobs such as meeting with customers from various industries, including aerospace, automotive and manufacturing. I was also responsible for various assembly projects and was given responsibility to deliver on time and of high quality.
After working for two years, I decided to further my studies in manufacturing engineering. I chose the University of Sunderland because the courses on offer really interested me. I did careful research of the University before making the decision to resign from my job and further my studies in January 2021.
What I really liked about my course is that the lecturers here are very open to students. They share their experience of their previous work, which makes me more curious and want to understand more about how engineering industries work here. I also like the flexibility of my studies; I have a balance of study and free time to do other activities.
Studying at the University of Sunderland is a great choice. Sunderland offers the best courses, especially in engineering! It’s highly recommended for those who really wanted to progress their engineering career. Student life here is amazing as there are many iconic places to discover and many student societies and activities you can join. Facilities and equipment in the University are amazing, not to mention the strategic placement of the campus. As an international student, I find myself very happy to be around the University area.”
