BSc (Hons) Computer Science


Zoe chose to study computer science at Sunderland because of the facilities and the familiarity of the north-east. She has enjoyed the flexibility of the course – being able to experience all routes in Year 1 and then specialising in computer science from Year 2. In the summer of 2023 Zoe undertook an internship with JPMorgan Chase and will be returning after graduation to work with them as a software engineer.

The support I received on the computer science course was excellent. The academic staff helped guide me through the interview process to secure an internship and a future job at JPMorgan Chase.

The advice I’d give to anyone looking to study computer science at the University of Sunderland is to have an open mind and trust yourself. Don’t limit yourself to certain areas because you never know where things are going to take you, you never know who you’re going to meet.”
