I chose the University since Sunderland is my home town and so I was able to study whilst working part-time and living at home. I also thought the computing facilities on campus were great. During my time at the University, there was plenty of opportunity for one to one support and asking questions. I found my lecturers and the course leader very encouraging, especially when I needed something explained in further detail.
I graduated four years ago and have undertaken a number of web developer roles. My aims are to progress in my role as a PHP Web Developer, keep developing my skills and keep learning – maybe a new development language at some point.
Anyone who is looking to join the University should take advantage of the help and support your lecturers offer, and think about the potential job role you would like if you can choose modules and your dissertation topic. If you can, talk to someone already working in your chosen sector about the technologies and skills you may need.
Studying at the University of Sunderland has changed and improved my career prospects."
