Research Gallery Exhibition
New York based artist Linda Mason has developed an exciting new project working with pupils from Fulwell Primary School in Sunderland, which all began with a day at the beach!
This exhibition explores the idea of playing games. A chess set has been created using a 3D scanner and more traditional techniques like sand casting. This has allowed the children to combine handmade objects with cutting edge equipment to change the scale of their work and create multiples.
Alongside these pieces Linda Mason has created a series of large-scale two dimensional water jet cut figures incorporating her signature brush strokes. This work will use the silhouettes of the children making the original sand castles.
