DisCrim - Vulnerability and Criminal Justice Network

The Vulnerability and Criminal Justice Research Network aims to bring together academics from across the University of Sunderland who have an interest in the study of children and adults that are/have been in contact with the criminal justice system and have been identified as having a significant ‘vulnerability’.

Welcome

The Network defines a ‘vulnerability’ as a physical and sensory impairment, a learning disability, autistic spectrum disorder, dyslexia, neurodevelopmental disorders, a traumatic brain injury, mental health issues, or substance misuse issues. This unique research network will aim to bring together key programme disciplines from across the University including Criminology, Police Studies, Forensic Psychology, Forensic Computing, Law and Media Studies (film production for criminal justice agencies).

This network establishes a space where future partnerships are developed and where the University of Sunderland is a centre of excellence in this unique area of research on a local, national and global academic level.
