Four young art and design students from the University of Sunderland had the chance to say thank you to the man who gave them the opportunity of a lifetime as they graduated this week, thanks to the support of one of the world’s most creative minds, Mike Davies CBE.

Mike Davies CBE is an internationally renowned architect with 40 years of involvement in projects such as the Pompidou Centre in Paris, Lloyd’s of London, the Millennium Dome and Heathrow Terminal 5. Mike is famed for his unique approach to urban design using the latest in technology, scientific research development, and for his distinctive red clothing.

He was at the Stadium of Light this week to show his support to our graduating students, including the Mike Davies Scholars 2021-2024 who received financial support and one-to-one mentoring throughout their studies.

The Mike Davies Scholars 2021-2024 are Meg Campbell (Illustration and Design), Hannah Garrett (Fashion Design and Promotion), Sara Heraoua (Illustration and Design) and Madi Stoica (Photography, Video and Digital Imaging).
