Students, staff and guests gather at the University of Sunderland's Veteran's Garden to mark Remembrance Day

Students, staff and guests have gathered at the University of Sunderland to remember the service and sacrifice of all those who fought for their country.

The Armistice Day event took place this morning (Monday 11 November) at the Sunderland Veterans’ Garden on the University’s City Campus where a two-minute silence was held.

Among those attending were University of Sunderland Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive Sir David Bell, University Chaplain Chris Howson, Councillor Michael Hartnack and Yvonne Gray, both from Fulwell War Memorial Group, student veterans and members of the of the Armed Forces Community.
