The University of Sunderland’s global reputation has been strengthened with QS World University Rankings 2022 placing its hospitality and leisure management programmes.
The new rankings see the University’s collective of courses covering Tourism, Hospitality, Events, and Aviation, enter the rankings between 101-150.
Professor Lawrence Bellamy, Academic Dean for the Faculty of Business, Law and Tourism at the University of Sunderland, said: “The entry of our Hospitality and Leisure Management provision into the QS World University rankings is deserved recognition for the outstanding work of colleagues in this area.
“Our programmes have been consistently high-ranking in national tables previously and CERTE (the Centre for Research in Tourism Excellence) has shown outstanding leadership with high-quality academic events and world-class research outputs.
“Together with our international partners and the outstanding student experiences provided we really have provision to be very proud of indeed.”
As part of the rankings, universities are compared across a range of metrics designed to measure their performance against research excellence (research reputation and research citation impact) and employers’ preferences for graduate recruitment.
