This fantastic award recognises the success the Students’ Union has demonstrated in its work on equality and diversity and the commitment it has made to the future development of its work in this area. Not only have Sunderland Students’ Union been awarded this prestigious award, they also now feature within NCFD Top 100 Index.
The award was presented to Sunderland Students’ Union for commitment on their journey to Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement (FREDIE). The award was collected by President: Activities Bryan Pepple and President: Wellbeing Helder Costa.
Helder Costa says: "We’ve worked really hard over the past year to ensure we are being more actively aware of our commitment to the principles of the National Centre for Diversity’s FREDIE framework which looks to promote key principles of equality and diversity. We are excited to continue this commitment within our future work at the SU."
Bryan added: "We are delighted to have received an award from the National Centre for Diversity. It was indeed an amazing event."
