Also known as the 'Festival of Colours', Holi is a popular Hindu festival which celebrates the end of winter and the beginning of spring.
It is traditionally celebrated by throwing brightly coloured powder and water balloons at each other on the streets - as well as singing, dancing and gathering around bonfires.
And there has been a huge explosion of colour at the University of Sunderland's City Campus as students joined the festivities.
