Niyla Javaid and Aimee Cameron-Hall are worth their weight in gold, according to fellow student George Forsyth.
The pair are student reps for their MA Design programme at the University of Sunderland and play a vital role in supporting and helping their friends stay organised.
Now the pair’s hard work has been rewarded after they were nominated by fellow student George Forsyth for our Rate Your Mate campaign. The initiative aims to shine a light on students who go above and beyond their studies to help others.
George, 26, from Grangetown in Sunderland, said: “Any issues that the students have or any help they need, Niyla and Aimee are always there and always ready to support.
“They’re both brilliant at time management and organisation. Aimee started up a Facebook group for the 22 of us and we all keep in touch that way.
“They are both always available whenever you need them – even at 2am.”
However, Niyla and Aimee say they were close to nominating George himself for the campaign.
Niyla, 34, originally from London, said: “George is massively important member of our team. If George is not there, we always feel like there is something missing.”
Aimee, 22, added: “He really cares about every member of the class.”
Rate Your Mate is unique in that all nominations are made by friends of the nominees who are also based at the University.
Any student who would like to nominate their friend can email rate@sunderland.ac.uk (link sends e-mail) and let us know what makes your mate amazing.
