Elite athlete Simon Uzokwe capped a fantastic start to the year with a try scoring European debut in a week where he signed an extension to his contract with Newcastle Falcons.
He made his first start for Newcastle Falcons in Saturday’s 64-7 demolition of Russian side Enisei-STM in the European Challenge Cup at Kingston Park.
Pharmacy student Simon is part of the University’s Elite Athlete Scheme, which provides athletes with extra support to help them compete at the highest standard during their studies, such as access to the Performance Clinic and financial support with competitions and transport.
