Our School Based Alliances

We work in partnership with approximately 24 schools on our PGCE Primary Education with QTS (School Based) course, across primary settings. Each of these schools is part of a School Based Alliance, which is led by a lead school.

You'll apply to a PGCE School Based alliance and following a successful interview, you'll be placed in one of their host schools. You'll have an additional placement in one of the partner schools within the alliance. 

We're currently in partnership with the following school alliances:

Aim High Alliance

Lead school: Newbottle Primary Academy

Host schools include Gillas Lane Primary Academy, Dubmire Primary Academy, and Hetton Primary School.

Durham Schools Together

Lead school: Coxhoe Primary School

Host schools include Esh C of E Primary.

South of Tyne Primary Alliance

Lead school: Springwell Village Primary

Host schools include George Washington Primary and John F Kennedy Primary.

Sunderland Nurseries Partners in Pedagogy

Lead school: Pennywell Early Years Centre

Host schools include Hylton Red House Nursery and Hudson Road Primary.

Washington and Chester le Street Training Teacher Alliance

Lead school: Rickleton Primary

Host schools include Chester le Street C of E Primary, Pelton Community Primary, Lambton Primary, and Woodlea Primary.

West Park Alliance

Lead school: West Park Academy (Lead)

Host schools include Skerne Park Primary, Reid Street Primary, Wynyard Primary, Federation of Abbey Schools and Red Hall Primary.
