Happy 20th Anniversary, Star Wars! Year 12 and 13 students are invited to join us for an intergalactic celebration to jump into the world of Media Production.
Get ready to embark on a journey through time and space as we celebrate Star Wars and its profound impact on the world of media and culture.
Take your seat in our newly refurbished cinema and immerse yourself in the magic of film with our advanced cinema projection and industry-standard Dolby Atmos sound technology.
Not a fan of Star Wars? Our event is not just for Star Wars enthusiasts; it's a must-attend experience for all students interested in careers in TV production, film, and media.
Come along to find out why our Media and Film Studies courses are 3rd in the UK (Guardian University Guide 2025).
Our event will be split into two halves:
Part 1
Our academics will take your students through the history of media, with a screening of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of The Sith in our newly refurbished, on-campus cinema.
Part 2
Following this, our experts will lead thought-provoking discussions and critical analyses of character representation within the film. Students will be able to engage in meaningful conversations and gain a deeper understanding of how cinema has influenced media and culture throughout the years.
We invite school/college groups and individual student bookings to this event. Spaces are limited, therefore booking is essential.
Contact student.recruitment@sunderland.ac.uk if you have any questions about the event.
