Strengthening Connections: Exploring Bones and Joints Through Movement

Home / Events / Strengthening Connections: Exploring Bones and Joints Through Movement

Topic - Open Events, Schools and Colleges

Join academics from our Physiotherapy and Sport and Rehabilitation Therapy courses as they celebrate National Bone and Joint Week with this interactive event.

Designed for potential applicants to BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy and BSc (Hons) Sport and Rehabilitation Therapy, students will be immersed in the world of bones and joints through hands-on activities, educational demonstrations, and collaborative exercises.

They'll gain a practical understanding of the musculoskeletal system, the role of physiotherapy in maintaining and improving joint health, and an insight into our physiotherapy courses.

What to expect

Part one – Exploring our anatomy

Students will work in our Anatomy Centre and explore the structure of the lower limbs – bones, hips, knees, and ankle joints. They'll then look at soft tissue and muscles and finally consider movement.

They'll learn more about the body's anatomy and how physiotherapists and rehabilitation therapists use this in practice.

Part two – Let’s get practical

For the second half of the session, students will put learning into practice through movement analysis. This part of the session will be practical and participants will need to bring activewear so movement can be analysed in real-time.

Due to the capacity of this event, we are limiting this to five places per school for school bookings. If you would like to be added to a waitlist if additional spaces become available, please add this to the booking form.
