Marie Todd

I joined the Primary Education team in 2023 as a Lecturer in Primary Education.  

Previously, I was a primary school teacher for 20 years and a deputy head teacher for the last four of those. I taught across the entire primary range with a specialism in Upper Key Stage Two. Throughout my career, I was subject lead for a number of subjects including science, PE and latterly English. The teaching and leading of grammar, reading and writing in the primary classroom was a passion of my classroom practice and one which I enjoy sharing with students. 

In my current role as Lecturer in Primary Education, I lecture across the undergraduate and postgraduate courses in a wide range of subjects and areas including professional learning. I undertake teaching, marking, and support students with their school experience modules and work across various courses including BA (Hons) Primary Education with QTS, BA (Hons) Primary and SEND Education with QTS, PGCE Primary Education with QTS, and PGCE Schools Direct.
