Senior Lecturer in Sports Coaching

I have over two decades of coaching at international level across a range of sports including pistol shooting, fencing, and modern pentathlon.

I specialise in sports coaching, talent identification, performance sport, and coaching psychology and have worked with National Governing Bodies within their development, talent, and performance tiers.

I completed the UK Sport High Performance Coach Apprenticeship certification as well as the UK Coaching Performance Foundations programme.

I am a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society and I am currently going through the Chartered Psychologist process.

Research interests for potential research students

I am interested in research in the areas of psychological skills training, coaching psychology, coaching pedagogy, athlete development, and coach education.

Research

I have a keen interest in psychological skills for athletes and coaches and my MSc research explored the physical reactions to psychological pressure in elite athletes.

I am also interested in coaching pedagogy, coach education, coaching psychology, and athlete development.
