Senior Lecturer in Biomechanics
Teaching and supervision
I am Programme Leader for BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Sciences.
My main focus is on sport and exercise biomechanics across the undergraduate and postgraduate sport programmes and I am currently module leader for SSP257 Sport and Exercise Biomechanics 1, SSPM04 Applied Sport and Exercise Biomechanics and SSPM07 Independent Learning Module.
I teach on the following modules:
Biomechanics (Level 4, 5, 6 and 7)
Performance Analysis (Level 5)
Personal, Professional Development (Level 4)
Research Project Supervision (Level 6 and 7 + PhD supervision)
Research interests for potential research students
- Player demands in team sports, focusing on GPS and microsensor devices, session RPE workload and physical tests
- Biomechanics in rugby union
- Understanding the diabetic foot
- Implementation of marking rubrics and student perceptions
Research
I have an interest in rugby union, focusing on elite women's rugby. My research involves examining the match demands and physical capabilities of the players and how this affects success. I am also interested in the effect of diabetes on lower limb mechanics.
