Senior Lecturer/Deputy Programme Lead
I am a registered Paramedic and Module Lead for first and third year research modules across BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science and Out of Hospital Care.
I registered as a Paramedic in 2008, after qualifying as an Advanced Technician in 2006. During this time, I developed a keen interest in End of Life and Palliative Care, developing working relationships with the local hospice. This spawned a new, dedicated EoL vehicle being implemented.
I enrolled on a BSc (Hons) Practice Development programme at Northumbria University, graduating in 2012; this was also the subject of my MSc in 2015. I found a real love for education during my studies, which has led me to taking up my post here the University of Sunderland in April 2018. I completed my PGCE in 2019, becoming a fellow of the HEA.
