ASEIP/Lecturer
I qualified as a nurse in 2009. I graduated from Dr NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada, India. My background is mostly renal although I have worked in NICU, respiratory ICU, and emergency care. I have worked as a dialysis nurse in both the private sector and the NHS across various parts of the country.
As a dialysis nurse, my special interest was in vascular access and I was part of the Sunderland Diagnostic Interventional Nephrology Team which went live in 2019. In this role, I organised workshops and delivered teaching sessions on the care of vascular access to patients who undertook home dialysis.
Teaching and supervision
I joined University of Sunderland as a Lecturer in the School of Nursing and Health Sciences in 2022. My role is Apprenticeship Educator Supervisor in Practice(ASEIP) on BSc (Hons) Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship.
In this role, I work with nursing apprentices based in several hospitals across London. I act as a personal tutor to these students and meet them on a regular basis ensuring they get the support to progress in their course.
I am the module leader for ANA 101( Foundations Adult Nursing) and ANA 102 (Foundations of Physical and Human Science).
To develop my career in teaching, I am studying PGCE Health Professions. On successful completion of this, I am planning to study Masters of Education (Health Professions) which will further enhance my skills as a lecturer.
