Programme Lead/Senior Lecturer/AESiP
I qualified as a nurse in 2009. I graduated from Dr NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada, India. My background is mostly renal although I have worked in NICU, respiratory ICU, and emergency care. I have worked as a dialysis nurse in the private sector and the NHS across various parts of the country.
As a dialysis nurse, my special interest was vascular access. I was part of the Sunderland Diagnostic Interventional Nephrology Team, which went live in 2019. In this role, I organised workshops and delivered teaching sessions on the care of vascular access to patients who undertook home dialysis.
Teaching and supervision
I joined the University as a Lecturer in the School of Nursing and Health Sciences in 2022. I am Programme Leader for BSc (Hons) Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship where I support a team of lecturers and senior lecturers in delivering high-standard nurse education.
I am a Senior Lecturer and teach a wide range of subjects across different teams. I am module leader for Holistic Nursing for Altered Physiology To Promote Wellbeing (Adult).
Additionally, I act as an AESiP (Apprentice Educator and Supervisor in Practice). In this role, I work with nursing apprentices based in hospitals across London. I act as a personal tutor to these students and meet them on a regular basis ensuring they get the support to progress in their course.
I have completed my PGCE Health Professions and Masters of Education (Health Professions) which has enhanced my skills as a lecturer.
