Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing

I am a Senior Lecturer on BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing Practice. I am module lead for the Dissertation Module Year 3, but also teach across a variety of modules and support all of the Practice Placement modules across year 1, 2 and 3. I am a Registered Adult Nurse with the Nurse Midwifery Council (NMC) and an Independent Nurse Prescriber.

My clinical background is mainly within the area of Cardiology as a Heart Failure Specialist Nurse, working across both the acute and community settings. I supported a large caseload of patients from their initial diagnosis, treatment and education within my specialist role, and gained qualifications with expertise in clinical skills and palliative care.

Teaching and supervision

I teach BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing Practice. I'm a co-provider of violence and aggression training and Moving and Handling, which are just some of the mandatory training requirements for student nurses prior to clinical placements.

Research interests for potential research students

I have an interest in long-term conditions and the role of the advanced nurse practitioner.

I am one of the Assessment Innovation and Improvement Champions (AIIC) working within the Assessment Innovation Programme reviewing assessment across the University in line with the Assessment Innovation Programme Principles.
