Senior Lecturer and Admissions Tutor

As an admissions tutor for the University of Sunderland, I am looking forward to assisting you at the start of your journey through your chosen course. I am a registered adult nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, and I have over 20 years of experience within the NHS.

I qualified in 2003 and worked clinically in renal medicine, older persons’ medicine, and as a clinical educator in dementia, before moving into a role that combined the development, support, and education of newly qualified staff (Preceptorship), Return to Practice, Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeships, and Trainee Nursing Associates.

The work I completed as Preceptorship Lead enabled me to achieve the National Charter Mark for excellence in Preceptorship for the NHS organisation at which I worked.

Teaching and supervision

I work in the School of Nursing and Health Sciences and teach adult nursing, professional practice, and clinical skills.
