Senior Lecturer - Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship

I am an Apprentice Educator and Senior Lecturer on BSc Hons) Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship. My career journey started as a volunteer with mental health services. I qualified as a mental health nurse in 2003. I worked in community mental health services until joining the University in 2021. I've worked in Assertive Outreach, Early Intervention in Psychosis and Criminal Justice Liaison.

Teaching and supervision

I am a supervisor of apprentice nurses on the Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship. I am module leader on this programme for: ANALDAMHA200 – Practice-Based Evidence for Evidence-Based Practice.

Research interests for potential research students

  • Peer support in schizophrenia
  • Gender and ADHD
  • Working with people with mental health needs alongside probation services
I have specialised in the assessment and treatment of psychosis both in early diagnosis and enduring presentations. I later developed interest in the management of safety in offender health and working with personality disorder. In 2010, I graduated with a masters in Psychosocial Interventions. Along with specialising in working with people with experience of psychosis, I also enjoyed working with family interventions in severe and enduring mental illness.
