Principal Lecturer for Learning and Teaching for Undergraduate Nursing
I’m the Principal Lecturer for Learning and Teaching for undergraduate nursing (Adult, Child and Mental Health). I have expertise in undergraduate nursing education development and delivery.
I qualified as a nurse in 2001 whilst in the British Army. During this time, I worked in several hospitals in the UK and served in active service. I have worked in various settings, including trauma and orthopaedics, surgical emergency admissions, MAU, A&E and ENT.
I specialised in Trauma and Orthopaedics in 2004 and worked in various lead roles within this speciality.
Other roles have included Practice Placement Facilitator, Practice Development, Project Manager, Nurse Specialist and Medical Education Programme Manager.
I joined the team as a Senior Lecturer and Clinical Link Tutor in 2017. My passion is for developing the methodology and delivery of pre-reg education, making it inclusive and innovative. I have held the role of deputy and programme lead for adult undergraduate nursing before my current role as Principal Lecturer for Learning and Teaching for Undergraduate Nursing. My passion remains to develop and inspire the next generation of nurses, to provide leadership to the academic team, ensuring we provide outstanding teaching and student support.
