Research Assistant – Health Literacy

I am a research assistant for the Health Literacy team based in the School of Medicine. I am currently collaborating with South Tyneside and Sunderland Foundation Trust and NHS Knowledge and Library Services on two research projects that aim to reduce health inequalities related to health literacy.

One project is focused on tackling health misinformation and the other is focused on improving healthcare professionals’ communication skills.

I was awarded a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and an MSc in Health Psychology from Teesside University. I am also an associate member of FUSE, the Centre for Translational Research in Public Health.

Research

My research interests are predominantly related to health, wellbeing, and psychology. I am particularly interested in research projects focused on health literacy and those which seek to reduce health inequalities. Additionally, I am interested in research concerned with improving student wellbeing.
