Senior Lecturer

I teach across all the engineering programmes and supervise both undergraduate and postgraduate students. My research is focused on the application of Behavioural Change Techniques (BCTs) to manufacturing maintenance issues, VR and AR applications, visual search and eye movements, automotive design, driver behaviour and age-related functional ability, including driver training methodologies.

Teaching and supervision

  • Professional Engineering Management Practice
  • Final Project
  • Organisations and Systems
  • Leadership and the Management of Project Quality, Risk and People
  • Research Skills
  • Masters Projects

Research interests for potential research students

The application of Behavioural Change Techniques (BCTs) to issues in manufacturing maintenance using mixed reality technologies.

Drivers Visual Search: New vehicle formats and integration of information into the driving task.

Research

Current work in progress:

  • Validation of a three dimensional multiple object tracking system for the development and transfer of enhanced perceptual skills and situational awareness in driving.
  • Technology enhanced driving: the impact on road traffic collisions.
  • Young driver acceptance and trust in new innovative on-board vehicle technologies.
  • User acceptance of Hydrogen Fuel Technology in the transition phase.
  • Drivers visual search and functional ability during on-road driving: age vs experience.
