Lecturer in Human Resource Management and Leadership
I graduated from the University of Khartoum-Sudan, where I also earned my PgDip, MSc, and later a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Northumbria University in 2014. Having studied in different countries, I bring cultural competence and a strong ability to engage diverse cultures, enriching both teaching and learning experiences and contributing meaningfully to research.
I earned my PhD from the University of Sunderland, with a dissertation titled ‘License to Practice: Reconsidering HR as a Profession, Role, and Function’. Through a non-dual ontological and epistemological perspective, my research aimed to explore and analyse the attitudes and perceptions surrounding HR as a regulated profession. I examined the elements of professionalism within HR, as well as HR professional identity formation.
