Every year the University of Sunderland strives to improve our promotion and support of equity, diversity and inclusion. This year, the main focus is to embed EDI across the University consistently.
Our priority this year will be to continue to recognise, celebrate and improve our diversity and inclusion, and work to embed a consistent experience for staff and students across the campuses.
We'll continue to ensure that we're a place that welcomes diversity, and anyone with talent can thrive, bringing to life the core value of an inclusive environment. To be truly successful means recognising where current inequality or unfairness exists and how it came to be. This is why the Race Equality Charter will be a central pillar of the work that we do in 2023-34.
For 2023-24, faculties and professional support teams across the University will have events, plans, and initiatives in place to do this centred around the following themes:
